The Homestead Exemption caps an assessment increase at 10% rather than the current approximate change amount on the attached sheet. There are several tax protest companies that will represent you for a fee if you don’t want to represent yourself. You have until May 15th to submit your protest in Collin County if you choose to protest.
The loan-to-assessed value is a percentage by itself. Add principal payments plus any initial deposits, and your appreciation should easily be at 78% of county appraised value by now to drop the mortgage insurance – which only benefits the bank.
